A Victorian London commission. This is Brydges Street (now Catherine Street) in Covent Garden, 1845. The buildings have mostly been rebuilt (including the commissioners ancestor’s business ‘the Elysium’), except for the Drury Lane theatre, which dates from 1812 and is still pretty much unchanged today.
